Bar 3 raplces my second bar when I have my weapon drawn and the last one is of pressing R+L for my panic buttons and stuff like running, potions and LB. My second bar is universal and only active when I haven't drawn my weapon. What I did, was creating my first bar (not universal over all my jobs), that is for my basic rotation and to target/attack enemies while runnig through a dungeon. I also don't know how many attack you have as a summoner that requieres you to point somewhere, since I only play tank.īut configuring your crossbars is bit hidden but works overall fine. You can toggle thorugh your enmity list but you need them in your enimty list first. The biggest problem would be to target the enemy of your choice. But it’s good to keep an eye on the aggro list and use L1/R1 to cycle through it to your intended targetĮdit: I don't actively play SMN so these may not be optimal, but here are an example of my SMN bars. Targetting is really something you have to get a feel for. Enable WXHB for extra skill space if you need it it’s also a good place to stick timers for double hold actions you always want to watch I find Legacy much easier on controller compared to Standard, which I find easier on KBM Make sure you’re on Legacy controls not Standard. My GCD AOE would be double hold actions since I need it less frequently. Aerherflow actions would be together too. For a SMN example, Bahamut actions would all be near other Bahamut actions. I also do try to group up related actions whenever possible. For the double hold actions (R2 -> L2 or vice versa), I place things I need less frequently, as well as things I might also use frequently but that have no cooldown- since they’ll always be available, I don’t always need to see them, so I can stick them in the back. Splitting them up like that helps me better associate the type of action to the type of button. My general philosophy for skill placement is main GCD skills on the face buttons and other cooldowns on d-pad.

I know I won't master that overnight but the few times I tried playing the game with a controller I felt I'm 1000x slower in everything compared to keyboard and mouse, especially targeting and arranging my skills in a good manner is something I struggle with.

On the flipside, macOS always shows me full bars when I'm in the living room yet Moonlight there has frequent drop-outs.Īnyway the big hurdle I'll have to overcome will be the controls. Streaming to the Switch has worked way better than I anticipated which is weird as in the Switch OS I frequently only get one bar and can't really play online, while in Switch Lakka Moonlight works almost perfectly.

Streaming off my PC is no problem thanks to Moonlight and I can use my Nintendo Switch or my Macbook as endpoints. To combat that I thought of finally resubbing to FFXIV but with things like they are sitting at my usual PC setup brings me no joy at all and I would rather sit on the couch next to family. I'm currently in bad mental health due to a mixture of my usual SAD (Winter Depression), the lockdown which causes me Cabin Fever most likely, the terrible weather of nothing but thick gray clouds 24/7 for days now and existential fear for my family as my small town currently has the highest number of Corona cases in the area and we still aren't sure if we have the mutation around here.
